Supervisor R&D Product Development

We are supporting a global industrial technology organisation in appointing a hands-on R&D Product Development Supervisor.

You will lead and develop a team of five engineers while remaining actively involved in product development, sustaining engineering, VAVE, cost optimisation and technical problem-solving. The role works closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Product Management to improve an established portfolio of high-volume engineered products.

Key Responsibilities

  Lead, coach and develop the engineering team.

  Set priorities and provide day-to-day technical guidance.

  Support product design, engineering changes and technical reviews.

  Drive VAVE, cost-reduction and productivity initiatives.

  Improve product manufacturability, reliability and performance.

  
  


• 
  

  Support product maintenance, qualification and obsolescence management.

  
  


• 
  

  Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.

  
  


• 
  

  Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure compliance with development and quality processes.

  
  

Your Profile

• 
  

  Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience in product development, R&D or sustaining engineering.

  
  


• 
  

  Previous leadership experience within a technical team.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong hands-on engineering and project-management capability.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with VAVE, cost optimisation and Design for Manufacturing.

  
  


• 
  

  Good understanding of manufacturing processes.

  
  


• 
  

  Practical CAD experience; Creo is strongly preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and communication skills.

  
  


• 
  

  Fluent German and English.

  
  

Experience with connector technology, stamping or moulding processes would be advantageous but is not essential.

The ideal candidate combines technical credibility with effective people leadership and enjoys balancing team development with hands-on engineering.
