Technical Sales Manager Germany, Engineering Plastics for Automotive (m,f,d), EN&DE

Dual.Concept S.r.l., a service company of AHK Italien (accredited by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies – No. 145/2022), on behalf of a client company is seeking a Technical Sales / Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Automotive sector in Germany.

Our client is a leading international manufacturer of thermoplastic compounds, developing innovative and sustainable material solutions for a wide range of industries, including automotive, household appliances, electrical, building, constructions, power tools and consumer goods. With a strong focus on research, innovation, quality, sustainability and environmental responsibility, it operates globally through multiple production sites and commercial branches, supporting customers with advanced technical expertise and customized solutions.

This position is specifically targeted at professionals with proven experience in both the engineering plastics industry and the automotive market.

You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in the German Market, building a strong project pipeline, and supporting sustainable and profitable growth through innovative material solutions.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities

• Minimum 3/5 years of experience in technical sales, business development, application engineering or key account management within the plastics compounds industry
• Proven experience selling engineering thermoplastics, polymer compounds or specialty plastic materials to the automotive industry
• Demonstrated track record of managing commercial relationships with German Automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
• Strong understanding of automotive development cycles, material approvals and SOP project management
• Lead application development projects in cooperation with R&D and Product Management
• Drive projects from early development to start of production (SOP)

Requirements

Your profile:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Science)
• Extensive technical and commercial experience in the field of plastics compounds and applications
• Mandatory: minimum 3/5 years of experience in engineering plastics/thermoplastic compounds combined with direct commercial exposure to Automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in Germany.
• Proven success in acquiring new customers and generating profitable business growth within the German Automotive market.
• Strong knowledge of engineering plastics and automotive applications
• Experience working with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers
• Fluent/bilingual in English and German
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Results-driven with a strategic mindset
• Willingness to travel frequently
• Based in central Germany (Wolfsburg – Dresden - Düsseldorf - Berlin)
