As Technology Owner M365 Data Governance and Archiving (all genders) you are part of Roland Berger’s powerful and global IT team. Together with highly motivated colleagues you can contribute significantly to overseeing the implementation, management, and optimization of data governance and archiving solutions within the Microsoft 365 environment. This role ensures that data is properly managed and retained according to organizational policies and regulatory requirements. The Technology Owner will work closely with various stakeholders, including IT, compliance, and business units, to align data governance and archiving strategies with business objectives.

Your key responsibilities are:

• Develop and implement data governance and archiving policies within the M365 environment, ensuring adherence to retention schedules. Own and operate the underlying technology landscape.
• Own SharePoint Premium features, including Advanced Document Services and workflow automations.
• Own the migration of data from Azure Files to SharePoint or data archive, aiming to decommission Azure Files storage.
• Drive the change and adoption with IT and business units to integrate data governance policies into business processes.
• Monitor and report on data governance metrics, providing training and support to users on best practices.

• Proven experience with data/file lifecycle management and Azure Files storage management
• Expertise in SharePoint Premium features, including Document Services and Storage Services
• Understanding of Microsoft Purview Information Classification, Protection, and Retention policies
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to data governance and archiving
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and ability to present reports to senior management
