Vice President Application Management (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Vice President of Application Management to lead our global application landscape, driving strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of business-critical systems. This role focuses on digital transformation, operational excellence, and managing global teams and partners.

Location: Germany, Poland, or USA (up to 50% remote)

Your responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise application strategy and multi-year roadmap
• Lead application management, support, enhancements, and lifecycle governance
• Ensure stability, performance, security, and availability of core business systems
• Translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions
• Drive transformation initiatives such as system modernization and process optimization
• Manage internal teams, system owners, and external service providers
• Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and service quality metrics
• Oversee budget planning, vendor management, and compliance
• Strengthen data, reporting, and analytics capabilities
• Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and customer-focused culture

Your profile

• Relevant academic background (IT, Computer Science, Engineering or similar; Master’s preferred)
• Extensive leadership experience (10+ years) in managing global enterprise application landscapes
• Proven expertise in vendor, stakeholder, and service delivery management
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
• Deep technical knowledge of key systems (SAP S/4HANA & ECC6, SuccessFactors, Power BI, SAP Analytics, integrations)
• Strategic, results-driven mindset with strong communication, decision-making, and change management capabilities
• Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
• Readiness to travel
