Arbeitsbeschreibung - Whole School Counsellor (m/f/d)
Job Start: As soon as possible, but no later than 1 August 2025 Location: Könneritzstraße 47 & Karl-Heine-Str. 95, 04229 Leipzig, Germany Contract: full-time contract (40 hours per week), initially fixed-term for 2 years followed by the option of a subsequent employment contract with an infinite duration
Providing individual and group services to meet the developmental, social and emotional needs of our children / students of our kindergarten, primary and secondary school by advising, supporting and encouraging them
Working together with the children / students to enhance their resourcefulness, productivity, competencies and interpersonal, decision-making and conflict-resolution skills
Teaching social emotional strategies in class
Strengthening children's / students' own unique capabilities while guiding them as they discover and develop interests and abilities
Assisting children / students in meeting their personal potential while meeting the standards set by Leipzig International School
Providing interventions for children / students to maximise their learning and support them, as they adjust to new situations
Developing and managing Individualised Educational Plans for children / students
Collaborating with educators, teachers and other Student Support Services members on an ongoing basis
Collecting and using data to identify key trends, patterns and needs
Providing professional development for teaching staff
Planning and offering parent workshops as needed
A degree in Counselling / Social Education / Social Pedagogy or a relevant equivalent
Experience in counselling children and teenagers would be desirable
Experience of working in a diverse school community would be desirable
Highly proficient English (and some level of German would be useful)
An enthusiastic, caring and inspiring professional
