Job Description

Packaging technologists are true specialists in packaging. In this profession, you will learn how to design, manufacture, and test modern packaging made from cardboard, paper, cartonboard, plastics, and films. From the initial idea to the finished packaging, you will work on state-of-the-art machines, control production processes, and ensure that packaging is stable, safe, and resource-efficient.

During your training, you will become an expert in materials science, production processes, quality assurance, and machine technology – contributing to products being safely packaged and transported.

During your 3-year apprenticeship, you will learn, among other things:

  • How stable and creative packaging is made from paper, cardboard, cartonboard, plastics, and films

  • How to operate, control, and maintain modern production and die-cutting machines

  • How to plan and monitor production processes

  • How to carry out quality checks and measurements

  • How to create technical production documentation

  • How to work as part of a team with colleagues from production, engineering, and quality assurance

  • Knowledge related to sustainability and material efficiency, e.g., the use of recyclable materials

What we offer you

  • High-quality and varied training with individual support from dedicated contact persons

  • Modern work equipment & a friendly, appreciative working environment

  • Attractive apprenticeship pay based on the collective agreement of the chemical industry and 30 days of vacation

  • Good chances of being taken on after successfully completing the program

  • Company health management (including contributions toward a gym membership)

  • A relaxation room with a massage chair

  • Free soft drinks and various complimentary hot beverages

  • Free parking directly on company grounds or good public transport connections

You can look forward to a great team that also enjoys spending time together outside of work.

Qualification

  • At least a basic secondary school certificate, ideally a secondary modern school certificate

  • Technical interest and enjoyment of working with machines

  • Enjoyment of practical tasks and manual skills

  • Reliability, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility

  • Interest in production processes and industrial manufacturing

  • Good German skills; knowledge of math and physics is a plus

  • Practical experience (e.g., school internships) is a plus but not required
