FY26 Intern - Engineering Systems - 6 Months, Nuremberg

General Summary:

We are looking for a motivated MSc or PhD student to join our department of Modem Systems Technology at Qualcomm's office in Nuremberg, Germany, for an internship of up to 6 months.

The position includes PHY-layer algorithm development, simulation, implementation, and testing for data communication modems supporting 5G NR, and towards 6G. The algorithm design will involve both RF/Analog and Digital/Baseband functions within the modem, as well as fixed point implementation.

Minimum Qualification:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is required, along with current enrolment in an MSc or PhD programme, preferably at an advanced stage.

What we would love to see:

• Good background of digital communications theory and signal processing
• Solid knowledge about mobile communication systems such as LTE and 5G
• Experience in Matlab, Python, and C++
• High level of written and spoken English. German not required but a plus.
• Coursework in communication theory, signal processing, error correcting codes, information theory, probability and random processes, digital communications.
