Job description

eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future.  

We are looking for an Intern (f/m/d) either full or part time to support our Quantum Applications team in Siegen. 
 

Responsibilities 

As an Intern - Quantum Applications you will contribute to the development and analysis of the eQ Application Toolset — a Python-based framework designed to support quantum algorithm design, circuit synthesis, and hardware interfacing. You will work on building the data pipeline and analysis tools that connect different modules of the software, test, and interpret quantum circuit behavior. In this role, you will: 

  • Develop and maintain data processing and analysis scripts for the eQ Application Toolset 

  • Analysis of simulation outputs, measurement data, and quantum circuit results 

  • Create visualizations and reports summarizing algorithm performance and circuit properties 

  • Contribute to testing, documentation, and automation of workflows using Python 

Job requirements

Required skills 

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering 

  • Strong Python skills and experience with scientific computing libraries such as NumPy and SciPy 

  • Experience with Git and collaborative software development 

  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a proactive, hands-on approach to learning 

  • Fluent English
