Internship in Characterization of Optical Sensors

Bosch Sensortec GmbH develops and markets key technologies in consumer electronics – micro-electro-mechanical sensors (MEMS), solutions and systems for smartphone applications, tablets, video game consoles, wearables, and the Internet of things. The sensors enable devices to recognize their surroundings and to transmit the data collected. MEMS are therefore part of the foundation for a networked world. • During your Internship, you will independently carry out sensor characterizations using established laboratory test setups with electrical readout.
• Furthermore, you will perform precise measurements, meticulously document experimental procedures and results, and actively contribute to the analysis and discussion of the data obtained.
• In addition, you will conduct robustness tests on optical components and play an active role in the continuous improvement of our characterization methods as well as laboratory processes.
• Lastly, depending on project requirements, you will also assist with optical characterization tasks, operate optical measurement setups, and align optical beam paths.

• Education: Master studies in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Microsystems Engineering, Physics, Optics, Photonics, or comparable
• Experience and Knowledge: strong interest in experimental laboratory work and the characterization of sensors; initial experience with electrical measurements and data analysis is an advantage; basic programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW); good proficiency in MS Office
• Personality and Working Practice: you work reliably and proactively, enjoy contributing to an interdisciplinary team, and take pleasure in practical experimental work, all while operating independently and keeping shared goals in sight
• Work Routine: with us, you benefit from a hybrid model that enables you to work both in the laboratory with regular office-based documentation and data analysis and remotely
• Languages: fluent in English

Start: January 2027 

Duration: 6 months
