Job Description

We also offer the possibility to write your thesis and student projects together with Rolls-Royce.

Key accountabilities:

  • Overview of engine performance degradation and potential root causes. Implement the new analysis of degradation diagnosis, based on in service data like engine health monitoring data (EHM).

  • Run multiple engines with the analysis and pre-process the EHM data. Apply numerical methods for data pre-processing.

  • Interpret and find causality of different degradation characteristics, compare with engine utilisation and operation. Find key characteristic clusters, to be used in Rolls-Royce products.

  • Support the engine incoming data analysis.

  • Borescope inspection (BSI) data analysis exploring different models

  • Develop required workscope logic based on BSI data for a specific case, e.g. compressor liner loss, turbine blade etc.

Qualifications:

  • Studying for a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or for an equivalent degree

  • Numerical background is appreciated.

  • Programming skills is appreciated, predominantly Python, SQL, C++

  • Fundamental understanding of gas turbine principal mechanisms is appreciated.

  • Material science, degradation mechanisms, inspection techniques, numerical modelling in the field of mechanical and thermal analysis would be beneficial.

  • Willingness of collaborating in national teams, English language skills and presentation skills are required.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, initiative, commitment and ability to work independently
