This role is a minimum 6 months internship where you will also get the opportunity to make your Master Thesis if needed.

The role is part of the Process Development / Pilot Plant environment at the Nienburg biotechnology production site. The team works on fermentation and downstream processing activities across different scales and supports process development, optimization, scale-up, and experimental documentation. It is a collaborative, knowledge-based, and highly motivated team that values respectful cooperation, practical learning, and contributing to sustainable food and health solutions.

The Role & Your Impact:

• Conducting fermentations and downstream processing in different scales,

• Independently performing standard analyses such as biomass determination and wet-chemical product analytics,

• Preparing and evaluating experimental series with clear documentation and reporting, and

• Supporting the scale-up of fermentation and downstream processes to pilot scale.

• The role may also include contributing to thesis-related topics developed jointly with the team.

Skills & experience

• Bachelor Degree or ongoing Master Degree Students in Biotechnology, Lifesciences, Bioengineering studies

• Candidates should be able to work independently and in a structured way

• Good English and German skills

• Experience with laboratory or pilot-scale process work and technical documentation is a plus

• Enjoys hands-on experimental work and contributes positively to a collaborative and appreciative working environment.

• On site in Nienburg
