Arbeitsbeschreibung - Student Research Assistant (w/m/d)


at the Africa Competence Center.

The regular working hours are 5 hours a week.

  • providing academic assistance and support for publications,
  • assistance with conducting legal research,
  • supporting the organisation of academic conferences and workshops, potentially with cultural institutional partners,
  • identifying Africa-specific or Africa-relevant research networks.
  • comparative law,
  • business law and land law in Africa,
  • political economy or legal sociology of Africa,
  • decolonial theory and critical theories of law.

 

You should be in at least your third semester of university study, have demonstrated great aptitude or motivation up to this point, and be interested in academic and interdisciplinary work. Very strong German and strong English skills are required; other foreign language skills (Portuguese, Arabic, Kiswahili, Hausa, Twi, Tigrinya, Spanish, French) are desirable. Prior knowledge of African contexts or even work/life experience in an African country is always appreciated.
