We are an innovation-driven research organization developing digital technologies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and sustainability. For an ongoing research project, we are looking for a creative UX Designer to help transform complex technologies into intuitive and engaging user experiences.

Aufgaben

The student job

The position is initially limited to approximately 4–6 months depending on availability, with the possibility of follow-up collaborations in future projects.

Your Responsibilities

• Design intuitive user experiences for software applications.
• Conduct user research, interviews, and requirements analysis with potential stakeholders.
• Develop user journeys, personas, and interaction concepts.
• Create wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes.
• Collaborate closely with software developers, AI engineers, and project management.
• Evaluate concepts through usability testing and iterate based on user feedback.
• Support the definition of product requirements from a user-centered perspective.
• Contribute to the overall product strategy by balancing user needs, technical feasibility, and project objectives.

Qualifikation

Your Profile

• Studying UX Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Media Informatics, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
• Experience in designing digital products, web applications, or mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and usability engineering.
• Experience with design tools such as Adobe, Sketch, or comparable software.
• Ability to translate complex technical workflows into intuitive user interfaces.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
• English and German at least B2 as well as a working permit for Germany

Nice to have

• Knowledge about implementing/ designing Moodle courses
• Skills regarding animation and/ or video editing
• Basic understanding of software development processes (Agile, Scrum).
• Familiarity with sustainability, recycling, circular economy, cultural and/or industrial applications.
