Arbeitsbeschreibung - Working Student (f/m/d) Cryogenic Platforms

At kiutra, we contribute to the development and application of quantum technologies by offering innovative and sustainable cooling solutions based on our unique magnetic cooling technology.  

Within the EIC Pathfinder project LEMON, we are developing scalable continuous Adiabatic Demagnetization Refrigeration (cADR) for quantum computing and other ultra-low temperature applications.

To support our growing R&D activities, we are looking for a motivated Working Student (f/m/d) for 12-20 hours per week who is eager to contribute hands-on to the development of advanced cryogenic infrastructure.



Responsibilities


  • You support the development and validation of cryogenic subsystems
  • You assist in setting up experiments, performing millikelvin measurements, and analyzing data
  • You contribute to CAD design and the technical documentation of components and assemblies
  • You support system integration activities for the LEMON demonstrators
  • You prepare technical documentation and internal reports




Requirements


  • You are currently an enrolled student in physics, quantum science & technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related field
  • You have a strong interest in cryogenics, quantum technologies, or deep-tech hardware systems
  • You have a hands-on mindset and enjoy working in lab and workshop environments
  • You work in a structured, independent, and reliable manner
  • You have experience with at least one of the following:
    • CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion, or similar)
    • Experimental physics or laboratory measurements
    • Data analysis (Python, MATLAB, or similar)
    • Vacuum or cryogenic systems (a plus)
  • You have very good English skills (German is a plus)
