Assay.Works offers research services to pharmaceutical/biotech companies and academic organizations. Our mission is to accelerate our partner’s research programs by developing and executing predictive and scalable assays to quantify the bioactivity of novel chemical and biological entities.
We are a focused team of dedicated scientists specialized in assay development and high throughput screening of both biochemical and cell-based approaches.
To further grow our team and capabilities we are seeking a Scientist Assay Technology with focus on RT-qPCR (m/f/d)
This is a Full-time position; initially limited to 24 months with the option to extent.In your new role you will be responsible for
• Setting up and running a new high-throughput RT-qPCR automation platform
• Lead project planning and assay development of complex, multiplexed RT-qPCR workflows
• Developing, optimizing, and executing cell-based and biochemical assays for high throughput screening, substance characterization, or automated biology applications.
• Managing client-funded research projects, including planning, experimental execution, preparation of reports, technical documentation, and communications with key stakeholders.
• Independent interaction with clients, service providers, and scientific partners; participation in scientific discussions and conferences to keep current with field of expertise and emerging assay technologies.What you bring to the role:
• Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or related Life Science discipline or a Master’s degree with > 3 years of relevant experience
• You have hands-on experience with RNA extraction, multiplexed RT-qPCR technologies and quantitative data analysis
• Flexibility and motivation to work in a fast-paced environment that requires managing several projects at the same time
• You enjoy achieving ambitious goals by joining forces and leveraging synergies within the team.
• Experience in other biochemical and cell-based assay technologies (enzyme assays, high content imaging, electrophysiology) is a plus
• Excellent skills in Windows-based computing, analysis of complex experimental data, and data management.
