Environmental & Sustainability Officer

As an Environmental and Sustainability Officer, you'll be responsible for:

• Preparing for, leading and conducting ISO 14001 internal and external audits.
• Ensuring effective implementation, monitoring, administration and maintenance of the Company's Environmental related matters of the Management System and identifying all applicable environmental regulations and legislation.
• Creates and implements sustainable organizational policies and initiatives that address environmental concerns.
• Contributing to preparing IMS review meetings by reporting performance to the management for review and as a basis for improvement of the Environmental related matters.
• Ensuring the Environmental issues of the Management System are understood by all company's personnel and identifying opportunities for development of external and internal environmental awareness programs and training sessions.
• Acting as liaison between the company and the suppliers / subcontractors, in respect of Environmental related requirements of the Management System.
• Providing suggestions and assistance to the Quality Assurance Manager in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Environmental related matters and guidance as requested on pertinent environmental and regulatory issues which might affect company's operations.
• Supporting the Environmental issues of the Management System by generating and submitting reports required by the Local and International authorities, bodies and Organizations in cooperation with Quality Assurance Manager.
• Maintaining summary data and information on solid wastes and other key environmental performance measurable of the company.
• Coordinate all waste management practices and recycling Initiatives at the office and at key ports in collaboration with our suppliers.
• Acting on behalf of the company, when assigned and as required, as the official representative with regulatory and local authorities for matters regarding the Environmental Management System.
• Ensuring that suppliers possess all necessary documentation and certification in accordance with the company’s criteria for approving suppliers.
• Preparing and conducting webinars on environmental and sustainability matters.
• Preparing the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Report and coordinating environmental initiatives to enhance the company's CSR efforts.
• Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with ISO 45001 standards and local regulations.
• Other duties as further assigned.

Our Expectations:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or another relevant field.
• Holder of ISO 14001
• Experience in sustainability management or related role, preferably in a corporate setting..
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001).
• Computer literacy; excellent knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Track record of driving positive change and implementing sustainable initiatives.
• Passion for sustainability and a genuine commitment to making a difference.
• Good communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
