Job Description - Marketing Director

We are currently seeking a Marketing Director for our client in the Hospitality sector. This role is pivotal within the Leadership team, driving essential strategic and operational decisions for the Hotel group.

The Marketing Director will spearhead all marketing, communications, and brand-related initiatives, collaborating closely with teams responsible for marketing, sales, revenue management, and public relations. 

As a leader in the organisation, the Marketing Director will focus on optimising revenue and profitability across the hotel through comprehensive Marketing, Sales, and Product Development strategies. We are looking for a candidate who not only possesses a deep understanding of traditional marketing principles but also demonstrates a strong track record in digital marketing and performance across various platforms. 

The ideal candidate should exhibit strategic thinking, creativity, and proactivity, prioritising the creation of overall value for the organisation. They must have a profound understanding of product development, marketing strategies, brand strategy and digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, email marketing, and content marketing, and be adept at leveraging these channels to drive engagement, conversion, and revenue. Moreover, the Marketing Director should possess a keen eye for identifying commercial opportunities in the digital landscape and fostering partnerships with relevant platforms and influencers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are paramount, along with effective leadership qualities and proficiency in revenue and budget management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading all marketing activities.
  • Build and scale a high-performing marketing team.
  • Monitor, analyse and communicate Marketing results.
  • Create and execute the annual marketing plan while overseeing the budgeting process for all Sales and Marketing operations.
  • Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum impact and ROI.
  • Create and enhance digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels to maximise effectiveness and reach
  • Craft the Public Relations Strategy and supervise its implementation in collaboration with PRD, external agencies, or corporate PR resources.
  • Formulate the Public Relations Strategy and ensure its execution, collaborating with PRD, external agencies, or corporate PR resources. Additionally, oversee updates and execution in conjunction with PRD, agency, or corporate PR support.
  • Serve as hotel spokesperson, when appointed by the COO or the CEO, to make all official statements for the hotel to the media.
  • Plan and coordinate all special events and promotions with the aim to maximise publicity
  • Craft Social Media strategy and distribution outlets with your team.
  • Recognize different market segment needs and adjust strategies to make the most revenue and profit.
  • Perform a thorough competitor analysis to guarantee that the property's product and service offerings are strategically positioned to gain a competitive advantage.
  • Oversee and grow the marketing department by identifying revenue opportunities. 
  • Establish a global brand identity that showcases the organization’s unique character, values, and culture.
  • Identify short- and long-term scheduling and resource needs, including development and management of annual marketing budget, profit-and-loss projections, and expenditure.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the hotels’ value propositions and our target audiences in order to devise relevant and engaging campaigns.
  • Understand key performance metrics and tracking tools for market research, forecasts, competitor analysis, campaign results, and consumer trends, and translate results into actionable insights for the marketing team.

Requirements

We're seeking an enthusiastic addition to our team to collaboratively develop innovative projects. This role entails full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Marketing department, ensuring exceptional initiatives and services within brand standards.

  • MSc/MA in business administration, marketing and communications or relevant fields.
  • 5+ years previous employment in a related position.
  • Proven experience in the hospitality or travel industry.
  • Experience in managing different external and internal partners (agencies and consultants)
  • Experience in product development. 
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful marketing campaigns at the international level.
  • Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and develop a team. 
  • A demonstrated ability of effectively managing multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines are essential.
  • Excellent English reading, writing and speaking skills.
  • Additional language skills are considered a merit. 
  • Proven experience in leading all marketing activities, preferably within the hospitality sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute annual marketing plans while overseeing budgeting processes.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and experience in enhancing digital campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Ability to monitor competitor activities and industry trends to inform marketing strategies.
  • Proficiency in monitoring, analysing, and communicating marketing results.
  • Expertise in crafting and supervising the implementation of Public Relations strategies, including collaboration with external agencies or corporate PR resources.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to serve as a spokesperson for the hotel when necessary.
  • Proven track record in planning and coordinating special events and promotions to maximise publicity.
  • Thorough understanding of social media strategies and distribution outlets.
  • Ability to recognize market segment needs and adjust strategies accordingly to maximise revenue and profit.
  • Strong analytical skills for performing competitor analysis and strategically positioning the hotel's product and service offerings.
  • Experience in identifying revenue opportunities and growing the marketing department.
  • Proficiency in developing and managing annual marketing budgets and profit-and-loss projections.
  • Deep understanding of the hotel's value propositions and target audiences to devise relevant and engaging campaigns.
  • Familiarity with key performance metrics and tracking tools for market research, forecasts, competitor analysis, campaign results, and consumer trends.
  • Ability to translate insights from metrics into actionable strategies for the marketing team.
