Job Description - Procurement Engineer

Procurement Engineer

Join our team at Depcon Construction LTD, a family-run business, founded in 1992 and a leading construction company committed to delivering high-quality projects.

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Procurement Engineer to join us, in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and services vital to our construction projects.

Position Overview:

As a Procurement Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our procurement processes to support our construction projects. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services required for construction activities while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards. Your strategic mindset and technical expertise will be very important in driving efficiency and maximizing value throughout the procurement lifecycle

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with site engineers and project managers to identify procurement needs and develop procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and timelines.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services while adhering to quality standards and project specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles within the construction industry, preferably in a project-based environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to establish and maintain favourable supplier relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, specifications, and industry standards.
