Adecco, on behalf of Cedefop, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training, one of the EU’s decentralized agencies, based in Thessaloniki Greece, is seeking to recruit a highly driven candidate for the following position: Publications Assistant (Interim agent – 12-month contract)
Cedefop is looking to secure the support of an interim agent for 12 months in the Department for Communication. Withing the department, publications production falls under the Dissemination Cluster, which is overall responsible for publications production, information systems and Open Science, and events planning. Colleagues working for publications manage the production process of the Agency’s publications throughout the stages of formatting, editing, translation, and layout/design –working both in house and with external parties/contractors. You will support the publications production in the administrative aspects and in the layout phase of the process, and you will be reporting to the Dissemination Facilitator. To be successful in this position you will have to work constructively and cooperate with colleagues across the Agency involved in relevant production process. You will also have to be open to acquiring additional knowledge and expertise if applicable. Job description • Manage the layout production stage of publications • Request and follow up layout services from external designers • Proofread the layout of work sent by external designers and request revisions • Produce and edit PDF files and format Word documents • Support the publications service’s financial management by processing purchase orders and invoices from external contractors • Support the publications service by managing the Records bank files • Assist with special projects as assigned Candidate’s profile • A level of post-secondary education, attested by a diploma • OR • a level of secondary education giving access to post-secondary education and at least 3 years of professional experience in publications and/or administrative support positions • Basic knowledge of graphic design will be considered an asset • Flexibility and the ability to work as part of a multicultural team • Very good oral and written communication skills in English (C1) • Ability to communicate clearly in writing with a variety of external partners • Ability to work independently and to tight deadlines • Good time management and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt as deadlines and priorities may change • Keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask • Previous working experience in a European organisation will be considered an asset Cedefop offers • European Union gross salary levels • Multinational/ Multicultural working environment Cedefop collaborates with Αdecco HR (Member of Adecco Group) which will hire on an interim basis the selected candidates.
