The Client :  

A joint venture company which operates within the British Sovereign Base areas in Cyprus and is involved in all aspects of construction and maintenance works Responsibilities :  

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchasing / Procurement professional to assume responsibility for all procurement matters relating to the company’s contracts, including liaising with the established international and local supply chain and freight forwarding agents. The successful candidate will work closely with the stores facility to rationalise the stock held on-site to drive out operational and financial efficiencies.

Main responsibilities include:

• Deliver materials procurement and logistical strategy
• Review quality of purchased products and materials
• Accurately enter order details into the internal database
• Research and liaise with vendors and suppliers, receiving and reviewing sales quotes
• Negotiate on contract terms of agreement and pricing
• Act as client liaison on contract financial matters
• Ensure that negotiated contracts are adhered to
• Prepare reports on product usage and prices
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with vendors and suppliers

Profile of the ideal candidate :  

• University degree ideally in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities, ideally within the local construction industry
• Experience in supply chain management and negotiations
• Experienced with formulation and implementation of procurement strategies as well as review to deliver value for money (VfM)
• Able to work in a QA system environment
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
• Motivated and self-driven
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Tech savvy
• Very good knowledge of English and Greek
