Job Summary
This role is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency of our computer systems across the organisation. The IT Helpdesk Specialist will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of various computing devices (PCs, Macs, Android devices), solving user issues, organising supplies, and conducting IT inductions for new employees. Additionally, the specialist will monitor system and security statuses, execute scheduled tasks, and contribute to reporting processes to ensure smooth IT operations.
What you will be doing
- Manage and oversee the entire lifecycle of all computing devices including installation, maintenance, and retirement.
- Resolve or escalate user issues with hardware, software, and network connections.
- Coordinate and organise IT supplies and inventory to ensure resources are readily available.
- Collaborate with the rest of the IT team to improve system infrastructure and combine knowledge with Microsoft products, networking concepts, PaaS and user experience.
- Conduct IT orientation sessions for new employees to familiarise them with our IT environment.
- Monitor and maintain system and security protocols and procedures, promptly addressing and resolving any issues.
- Perform scheduled tasks and produce accurate reports on IT operations and system statuses to aid in proactive maintenance and management.
- Verify the correct application of IT processes and procedures throughout the organisation.
- Set up new workstations and customise or upgrade workplace settings to meet the new needs.
What we are looking for
- Experience in IT support or a similar role, with a strong understanding of computer systems (PC, Mac, Android).
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
- Familiarity with IT procurement and inventory management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conducting training sessions and explaining complex IT concepts in an understandable manner.
- Experience with system monitoring tools and understanding of basic security principles.
- Ability to execute scheduled IT tasks and generate comprehensive reports.
- Proficiency in English; second language proficiency in Romanian will be considered a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of networking and network troubleshooting is a plus.
- Knowledge of scripting abilities is a plus. Mindset to automate procedures will be considered a significant advantage.
