Position summary

We are now looking for an experienced, commercially minded, and tech-savvy Data Protection and Privacy Legal Counsel for our Athens office to join our global legal team currently consisting of four experienced lawyers (three in Stockholm and one in Athens). As the primary resource and point of contact for issues related to data protection and privacy, the role will provide support to the legal team as well as the company at-large.

You will join an international, innovation-driven company with a culture that encourages learning and development. In this role, you will get the opportunity to lead the development of Etraveli Group’s privacy function.

Responsibilities

• Advise colleagues around the globe regarding data protection and privacy legislations (such as the GDPR), including drafting and negotiating privacy related agreements, as the subject-matter expert within the legal team.
• Drive, develop and support in conducting legitimate interest assessments, data protection impact assessments, data transfer impact assessments, manage and maintain records of processing activities, manage data subject requests, and evaluation of incidents.
• Provide all business units with policies and guidelines in relation to privacy, provide role-tailored privacy training to colleagues, and manage external-facing privacy information.
• Monitor legal and regulatory trends and analyze their impact on Etraveli Group and its business functions.

You will report directly to our Chief Legal Officer.

Requirements

• University Degree in Law
• A minimum of 5 years of working experience in the field of data privacy in a law firm or in-house legal department
• Industry recognized Data Privacy Certifications
• Experience in analyzing and applying technology-related legislation , as well as a good working knowledge of Information Security principles and practices will be considered favorably
• Experience of and familiarity with the OneTrust privacy platform will be considered as beneficial
• Strong legal analytical skills
• Strong ability in finding answers and solving problems with a pragmatic approach, giving tangible and to-the-point advice to the organization
• Team player with a curious, open and business oriented mindset
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Effective project management, organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both spoken and written English and Greek
