We are seeking a talented and innovative Clothing (workwear) Designer to join our team. As a Clothing (workwear) Designer, you will be responsible for creating functional, comfortable, and stylish Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) workwear for various industries.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PPE workwear garments that meet safety standards and regulations while incorporating ergonomic principles for comfort and mobility.
- Research industry trends, materials, and technologies to ensure designs are cutting-edge and effective.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including B2B, B2C, and manufacturers to bring designs from concept to production.
- Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and prototypes for sampling and production.
- Conduct fit sessions and make necessary adjustments to ensure garments meet performance and safety requirements.
- Stay abreast of changes in safety regulations and standards to ensure compliance in design and production processes.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and budgets.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and oversee production processes.
- Participate in product testing and evaluation to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
- Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvement in PPE workwear design.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Engineering, Textile Design, or related field.
- Proven experience in designing PPE workwear or technical apparel, preferably within industries such as construction, manufacturing, or healthcare will be an asset.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and certifications related to PPE will be an asset.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality, functional garments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers and manufacturers is a plus.
- Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly materials and practices is desirable.
