Job Description - PR & Corporate Communications Manager

ICAP Executive Search & Selection , on behalf of its client, a Scandinavian travel arrangements company, is seeking to recruit PR & Corporate Communications Manager , emphasizing strategic leadership, team development, and business-wide support to promote and uphold the organization’s corporate brand image, with a basis in Athens, Greece.

Role Overview:

  • As part of the Commercial, Brand & Customer Journey Department and reporting to the VP, Brand & Customer Journey, he/she be part of the team in implementing all aspects of the Corporate Communications & Public Relations Strategy.
  • Establish and execute efficient processes within the team, the business, and third-party agencies to ensure the effective implementation of business communications, including corporate communications, public relations, and crisis communications, to uphold and further enhance the corporate brand image.
  • Support crisis external communications and help develop and implement the Crisis Management Plan . Additionally, he/she will manage public relations for individual markets, local media relations, and localized strategies.
  • In terms of team leadership, the PR & Corporate Communications Manager will be responsible for the communications team and value-added output to the commercial department and business.
  • Responsible for the development of public relations and media training plan across the business .

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement the corporate internal and external communication and Public Relations strategy, to promote the corporate image and services to the target audiences, including designing and implementing an efficient internal press office team.
  • Support in the implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, focusing on engagement in social and non-commercial activities. Explore potential co-operations and sponsorships with institutions and organizations in the context of CSR to build our client's ongoing commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
  • Support in the implementation and championship of the Diversity, Equality & Inclusion (D,E&I) strategy of the business, focusing on engagement in social and non-commercial activities. Explore potential co-operations and sponsorships with institutions and organizations in the context of D,E&I to build the organization’s ongoing commitment to becoming a more inclusive business.
  • Monitor, update, and enrich the organisation’s website content, media, blogs, and social media concerning corporate issues, including press releases, info material, media trainings, press briefings, and press trips, to enhance and protect our client’s image based on business objectives.
  • Support the Crisis Management team, aiding in all communication related to crisis events, organizing and issuing press briefings based on technical and legal issues highlighted by the legal department, technical advisors, and Operations Division, to enhance and protect the organization’s image based on business objectives.
  • Help to develop, maintain, coordinate, evaluate, and further strengthen relations with media agencies and representatives to promote and enhance the organization’s public image.
  • Keep abreast and educate self and colleagues on developments and trends in the industry to propose solutions or improvements that will enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of PR services provided to our client. Support on media advisory boards on behalf of the organization, where required.
  • Support in the development and, upon approval, implementation of the PR Department’s budget to ensure its accurate execution, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and corrective actions in case of deviations, to ensure compliance with set targets.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in PR/Communications or a related field from an accredited University/College, or equivalent experience.
  • University Degree in Journalism or related degree will be considered an advantage.
  • Programme management qualifications or experience will be considered an advantage.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience at Management level.
  • Experience in the hospitality & travel industry will be considered an advantage.
  • At least 3 years of experience working for a global brand/agency will be considered an advantage.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels within an organization, external bodies, and third parties.
  • Effective people management skills.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and a strong team player.
  • Strong advisory and crisis management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Poven ability to manage workload proactively and efficiently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, capable of effectively managing multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Fluency in the English language is required. Knowledge of Greek is highly advantageous, and proficiency in an additional widely spoken language is beneficial.
  • Moderate travel required.
