Tickmill is looking to hire a Trading Risk Officer to join our Brokerage team in Limassol.

The Trading Risk Officer is responsible for a critical role in safeguarding the brokerage company's financial stability and reputation by proactively identifying, assessing, and managing trading risks across various dimensions. Generating reports and conducting analyses to track trading risk exposure, performance metrics, and compliance with risk management policies. Identifying and addressing operational risks within the trading process, such as system failures, errors in trade execution, or compliance breaches. The Trading Risk Officer implements controls and procedures to mitigate these risks and ensure smooth trading operations. Also, this role establishes limits for clients to minimize the risk of financial losses.

What the job looks like?

The Trading Risk Officer will have the opportunity to:

  • Prepare the required competitor analysis and market research.
  • Monitor activity in the financial markets across a wide range of asset classes.
  • Oversee various trading and risk systems in real-time & ensure their smooth operation.
  • Carry out trade surveillance, investigate irregular activity across a wide range of asset classes and report any suspicious activities to Brokerage and Compliance departments.
  • Liaise with third parties to ensure a smooth and reliable trading experience for clients.
  • Assist Business Development and Support teams in handling trade related queries and complaints, while resolving them in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with the Compliance department in handle high risk complaints.
  • Implement new configurations for new products.
  • Handle and escalate technical issues to the relevant departments within the organization.
  • Work on developing new tools to facilitate daily operations.
  • Produce necessary complex reports as required by company’s management and regulatory bodies.
  • Perform any additional duties and localized tasks as and when is required.

What will you need to be able to do the job?

  • Deep understanding of financial markets, trading products, and investment instruments is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English Language both written and oral.
  • A degree-level education either in Finance, or Mathematics, or Economics or any other relevant field.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds is essential.
  • Given the dynamic nature of financial markets, candidates should be adaptable and resilient in the face of changing market conditions and evolving risk factors.
  • Strong analytical skills are necessary for identifying patterns, trends.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening shifts on rotation
  • Exceptional attention to details.
  • Experience with MT4 and/or MT5 platform.

Will be considered an advantage if you have:

  • Experience with Exchange Traded Derivatives.
  • Python and SQL experience.
