Accounting & Collections Officer

Scope of duties

The Accounting & Collections Officer offers assistance across different areas within the Accounts and Finance department. Main responsibilities include establishing and updating the customers' and suppliers' database in the company's software, as well as entering accounting entries. Effective communication within the team and fostering positive working relationships are crucial for the ACO, who continuously seeks to improve systems and streamline processes for increased efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Creates, maintains, and updates customers and suppliers in company’s software.
• Pursues payment from customers regarding outstanding balances.
• Records incoming financial transactions.
• Performs customer and suppliers’ reconciliation.
• Liaise with banks and customers as required.
• Offers assistance to the Accounts Department as directed by the Chief Accountant (CA) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and supports other departments as needed. 
• Implements the Group’s Management System and recommends enhancements.

Required Qualifications / Competencies

• Possession of an equivalent tertiary qualification acknowledged in a pertinent area such as LCCI Higher, Accounting, or any other business-related discipline (minimum three-year program).
• Proficiency in administrative and organizational tasks.
• Demonstrated capability to perform effectively under pressure.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to adhere to deadlines.
• Proactive attitude and adeptness in collaborative team environments.
• Possesses a strong sense of ethics and accountability.
• Strong communicator with excellent analytical, verbal and written skills in English and Greek languages.
• Proficiency in computer skills.
