The role  

  • Manage the accreditation process for LR entities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and industry standards. This includes overseeing, coordinating, evaluating, and responding to business requests for new or revised appointments that should be held by LR entities.
  • Acting as subject matter expert for all group personnel in respect of interpretation of requirements related to LR’s accreditations and notifications, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Acting as representative to top management on the performance of the management system and any need for improvement
  • To provide specialist knowledge within the accreditations landscape and to assess multi-discipline complex problems for external and internal clients to determine a range of alternative solutions, where previous experience does not provide any precedent.
  • Responsible for implementation of a suitable process to identify potential risks to impartiality and develop mitigation plans to minimize or eliminate those risks.
  • Lead, in collaboration with key accreditation members, the development of required training with the objective of achieving a consistent level of competence and knowledge in the staff in maintaining appropriate accreditation, notification, and authorization schemes knowledge across LR.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Manual(s) and monitor its effective implementation, to uphold organizational standards and enhance service delivery.
  • Establish, in collaboration with key accreditation members and other key stakeholders, metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor quality outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Managing the external audit process from the reception of the audit request until all findings are closed. This includes coordinating accreditation audits, preparing documentation, facilitating communication with external and internal participants, and facilitate accreditation renewal processes in a timely manner, as applicable.
  • Responsible, in collaboration with stakeholders, for participating and resource adequately in internal audits, addressing findings, and implementing required actions in a timely manner.
  • To pursue Continuous Professional Development by staying updated on accreditation requirements, changes, guidelines, and best practices to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Eliminate or minimize employee exposure to risks by reviewing, regularly, the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessment, and ensuring health and safety are considered in the planning and execution of all LR activities.
  • Manage your own and your team's compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems, and legal requirements, ensuring employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
  • Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviours in the workplace, take appropriate corrective and preventative action as necessary, and suggest and implement improvement activities.

What you bring  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required (e.g. Quality Management, Maritime Studies, Engineering.)
  • Certification in Quality management (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) and Business Improvement tool(s) are highly desirable, e.g. Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in quality assurance, accreditation, or regulatory compliance roles within the maritime industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accreditation standards, regulations, and best practice
  • Experience in designing and delivering training would be an advantage
  • Ability to communicate effectively at different levels with internal stakeholders and to influence successfully and openly at all levels
  • Proven track record of successful building relationships with accrediting agencies, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders
  • Good influencing and motivational skills demonstrated through facilitating services to others.
  • Strong ability in data analysis, and being able to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Adaptable and well-organized with a practical-minded approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
