C.Y. Actuaries & Consultants Ltd ., on behalf of its client, OPAP Cyprus, is seeking to recruit a competent individual for the position of AML Manager, to join their high-caliber professional team in Nicosia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the accurate execution of searches and investigations in accordance with AML processes, ensuring the efficient identification and monitoring of suspicious behaviors and transactions. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the compliance of all team activities with regulatory requirements and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Reviews AML / Antifraud / KYC activities delivered by the vendors on a weekly basis
• Ensuring that the AML framework is in line with the regulatory requirements and corporate standards
• Keeping up to date with the changes in the regulatory and legal framework, and assessing their impact on the AML processes and standards
• Conducting AML training for the agents/employees and making them aware of the AML rules and regulations
• Establishing and reviewing the AML / sanctions-related policies and procedures
• Reviewing AML report and submitting it to the BoD for approval
• Reports to the responsible director the AML progress and findings on a monthly basis
• Reviewing the internal rules and processes to prevent financial crimes, while updating the relevant authorities and complying with the latest rules and regulations
• Reviews and evaluates suspicious transactions and activities (weekly) and reporting them to MOKAS
• Reviewing the records of the Safer Gambling restrictions in line with the regulator’s requirements/directives
• Supporting the relationship with the Regulators for OPAP Cyprus
• Reviewing and approving material requested by OPAP S.A / Allwyn
• Detecting areas that may impact the AML system, typology, and process accuracy and proposing improvements to increase compliance
• Managing the members of their own team, providing the necessary support and feedback for the development of their skills and achievement of set goals
• Responding to ad-hoc assignments to meet business needs that are not specifically or previously described and are related to the content of the current job and the personal skills and capabilities
• Acting as a first point of contact with MOKAS the financial intelligence Unit, upon commencement of and during any investigations
• Ensuring the preparation and maintenance of the lists of clients categorized following the risk-based approach as per the directive
• Submitting to the regulator the reports needed within the deadlines and responding to all requests that may occur

Requirements

• Holder of a university degree (BSc) with a background in Law, Finance, Business, or a relevant field
• Possess the CySEC AML Compliance Certificate
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in control functions with a focus on the management of ML/TF, in organizations such as banking, gambling, gaming, telecoms
• Advanced hands-on experience in AML / CTF operations
• Very good knowledge of the financial / credit operations and processes
• Good knowledge of relevant regulation schemes and policies
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking
• Results oriented
• Strong negotiation skills
• High level of integrity and discretion
• Team management capabilities
• Advanced MS Excel user
• Excellent communication and presentation skills both in English and Greek languages (written and oral)
