Applications Engineer

JUST ONE, on behalf of its client, a leader in the digital transformation of retail in Greece and Cyprus, is looking for an Applications Engineer

Responsibilities:

Propose & develop new methodologies and institute best practices to further enhance system efficiency

• Liaising with the development and problem management teams as appropriate to resolve

issues or expedite operational processes

• Provide training and mentorship to Applications Team members

• Vendor management

• Interpret and validate written business requirements and technical specifications in line with

the product design strategy

• Maintain, extend and support ETL/integration procedures (MS SSIS flows, MSSQL Stored

procedures)

• Assist with the development of additional applications functions and features

• Participate in the root cause analysis of issues, provide technical assessment (i.e., outage

break-down, quality assurance metrics) in order to prevent/eliminate recurrences and proceed

with debugging & fixing.

Requirements

• Previous operational experience working in a fast-paced Retail or Digital environment will be

highly valued (6-9 years)

• Experience with various user requirements elicitation techniques

• Understanding of retail accounting principles and current financial legislation

• Previous LS Retail NAV or other cash register solution experience is highly preferred

• Proven record of strong experience working in SQL environment (T-SQL syntax), knowledge of

NoSQL databases (MongoDB)

• Familiarity with API interfaces/Web Services implementations (REST, SOAP)

• Familiarity with Agile, lean development methodologies highly preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in Greek and English

• Bachelor or master’s degree in Information Technology
