Job Description - Business Development Representative- Weather Services

About the role:

We are looking for an ambitious and passionate Business Development Representative who will play a critical role in driving the company's growth and expanding our market presence. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and driving revenue generation initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to shape our product direction and accelerate our growth trajectory.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Represents business development efforts to identify and pursue new revenue opportunities for WeatherXM data products.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including technology partners, resellers, and distributors of the WeatherXM weather stations.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to shape product strategy and roadmap based on market feedback and insights.
  • Drive the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing deals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, track progress against goals, and make data-driven recommendations to optimize business development efforts.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or related roles within the weather or related sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative business development strategies.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth and achieving targets.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, tech environment and adapt to changing priorities and market conditions.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and market trends.

Bonus points, if you have

  • Experience in weather data sales
  • Experience working with Web3.
  • Experience in a start-up high tech environment where you pushed sales and business development
  • Understanding of DeFi / crypto primitives.
