Our client, a Top Pioneering Company in the industry of Waste Management & Alternative Fuel Production , is looking for a Commercial Manager , based in Athens
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for researching and identifying trends, potential clients, and new market opportunities, including but limited to waste management or environmental engineering projects like Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, alternative fuel production, industrial waste management, handling/final disposal of off-specification products & distressed cargo, soil remediation etc.
Duties & Responsibilities
- You will have full responsibility for Sales, Profit margin and P&L.
- Reporting directly to the CEO, the Commercial Manager heads the Sales (B2B) (B2G)
- You will mentor – motivate and manage a team of 6 fte’s
- Analyze competitor activities, market dynamics and predict future trends to develop strategies for market penetration
- Lead tender procession, identify new tender opportunities and develop a tender strategy
- Explore and evaluate opportunities for geographical expansion or diversification of services
- Assess the feasibility of entering new markets or industries
- Develop and manage relationships with existing clients, vendors, and partners, understand their needs and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling services
- Ensure customer satisfaction and manage client expectations
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets
- Prepare and present proposals, bids, and contracts to potential clients and tender opportunities. Ensure proposals are competitive and compliant with client requirements
- Negotiate terms and pricing agreements to close deals
- Develop and execute business development plans and strategies aligned with the company's objectives and with the regulatory standards
- Coordinating with Head of Marketing to increase commercial activities
Requirements
- BSc in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Marketing or a related field
- MSc will be considered an asset
- Prior Work experience of at least 5 years in Waste Management or Environmental Services Industry are a must, in a people management role
- Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting, a good head for numbers and figures
- Able to understand waste management regulations and environmental sustainability
- Exposure to International projects will be considered an asset
- A keen ability to understand and anticipate customer needs and requirements
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other relevant business tools
- Excellent communication skills in English language (verbal, written)
