Compliance Manager
Role responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices related to aviation safety, OHS and FLS, including regulations issued by aviation authorities, occupational health agencies and fire safety authorities
Develops, implements and maintains comprehensive compliance programs that ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations and standards applicable to airport operations
Establishes and updates internal policies and procedures to promote compliance and mitigate risks
Monitors regulatory developments and changes in legislation that affect airport operations, ensuring the organization remains compliant with all applicable laws and regulations
Prepares and submits required reports to regulatory authorities, ensuring accuracy and timelines
Conducts regular compliance risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and develops strategies to mitigate identified risks
Implements and oversees corrective action plans to resolve compliance issues and prevent future occurrences
Develops and delivers compliance training programs for employees at all levels, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities related to compliance
Fosters a culture of compliance by promoting awareness of compliance issues and encouraging open communication about potential concerns
Conducts regular compliance audits and reviews to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations
Monitors compliance activities and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes
Leads investigations into compliance violations, incidents, and complaints, ensuring thorough and impartial analysis
Develops and implements response strategies to address compliance issues, including disciplinary actions and process improvements
Serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and other stakeholders on compliance matters
Collaborates with internal departments, including legal, operations, finance and human resources, to ensure a coordinated approach to compliance
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management or safety management roles, preferably within the aviation or transportation industry
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices related to airport operations such as aviation safety, OHS, and FLS
Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, safety management systems (SMS), incident investigation techniques and regulatory compliance tools
Competencies:
Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify trends and develop practical solutions to improve safety and compliance performance.
