DevOps Engineer

On behalf of our client, a renowned and rapidly expanding global fintech company, we are currently looking for a high caliber and experienced professional for the position of DevOps Engineer, based in Nicosia, Cyprus.

DevOps Engineer – Ref. 5594/DOE/ESS/CY

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the business and broader technology team to establish software specifications and standards.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of our service infrastructure.
• Enhance and sustain automation and CI/CD processes for development.
• Provide guidance to the CTO on infrastructure and automation roadmaps and architecture.
• Ensure high service quality and uptime through automation, tools, and processes.
• Optimize costs for new and existing services.
• Engage in incident response and remediation efforts.
• Take part in the international 24x7 on-call roster as needed.
• Develop and implement software and services that comply with international standards such as ISO 27001 and PCI DSS, as well as local requirements.
• Lead by example in ensuring team compliance with security and privacy processes and frameworks.
• Continuously improve compliance and security processes and frameworks.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or relevant advanced certifications.
• Over 3 years of experience building solutions on AWS using ECS (Fargate), EC2, and other AWS managed services.
• More than 2 years of experience with Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Linux shell scripting (bash).
• Experience with implementing CI/CD pipelines for code and infrastructure using Git, Docker, and Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, and VPN technologies.
• Experience in payments systems (cards, ACH, CHIPS, Fedwire, SWIFT), core banking, risk management, or other fintech areas.
• Expertise in designing and delivering high-availability systems on AWS.
• Experience implementing security measures for public cloud infrastructure and public-facing APIs.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as Elastic Kubernetes Service, Amazon MSK, Lambda, and API Gateway.
• Experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting software in Java (Spring Boot), C# (.NET Framework or .NET Core), iOS mobile applications, REST, and React.
• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, ActiveMQ, or Kafka.
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools like PagerDuty, CloudWatch, ELK stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana), and Prometheus/Grafana.
