Minerva Marine Inc. is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Dry-Docking and Projects Engineer to join our team. As a Dry-Docking and Projects Engineer, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the dry-docking process of our vessels, ensuring their safe and efficient maintenance and repair, while managing other projects as well.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with the operations team, technical department, and external contractors to plan and execute dry-docking projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting inspections, coordinating maintenance and repair activities, and ensuring compliance with contracts and agreements as well as with industry standards and regulations.
Key Accountabilities
- Draft and monitoring the dry-docking plan for the fleet
- Review dry-docking repairs specification of works and draft proposed action and implementation plan.
- Monitor dry-docking progress and conduct statistical and financial analysis to support decision making.
- Monitor the yards’ performance and the quality of the maintenance works in compliance with the specifications and contracts and propose corrective actions.
- Communicate with yards regarding to dry-docking contracts.
- Review and monitor of the dry-docking budget, ensuring adherence to costs.
- Carry out physical visits to shipyards to ensure adherence to plan.
- Provide support in budgetary analysis for project implementation and deployment.
- Monitoring and coordination of undertaken projects in a timely, cost effective and compliant way, ensuring all necessary parties are involved.
- Prepare necessary reports and presentations regarding undertaken projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical/Marine Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in shipyard operations or dry-docking projects
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Driven with strong communication skills
