Job Description - Editor in Chief (Athens-based, on-site)

PeopleCert is looking for an Editor in Chief, who will be responsible for commissioning, developing, reviewing, editing, and proofreading our Business & IT products, i.e. ITIL, PRINCE2, DevOps Institute.

As an Editor in Chief your tasks will include the following:

  • Manage a team of Editors
  • Develop, edit and proofread content to ensure alignment with product specifications, instructional design specifications, structure and language consistency and excellent quality
  • Work closely with subject-matter experts, product development and product management to ensure that core guidance is aligned with the product specification
  • Source and liaise with Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs) and external partners, integral to product development
  • Liaise with various other internal and external teams to ensure the successful development and delivery of products, including designers, product team, marketing and printing
  • Monitor the process and report to the Project Manager, to ensure that projects are delivered to the agreed deadline, budget and specifications
  • What we look for:

  • 5-10 years experience in leading editorial teams (of 5+ members)
  • 10+ years experience in an Editorial role in publishing, including experience in managing SMEs and learning assets including Books, Digital Content and Training Materials
  • Exceptional copywriting, copyediting and proofreading skills
  • Proven experience in working well under pressure with tight deadlines, as well as solid teamwork and project management skills
  • Experience in Learning Management Systems (LMS) & Content Creation for learning platforms will be an asset
  • Native or excellent command of the English language (C2 level certification is required, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be a plus)
  • Be at the top of technology solutions, and use the latest tools as per the latest tech trends (e.g. creating content with AI tools)
  • Knowledge & understanding of PRINCE2 or ITIL qualifications will be an asset
  • Advanced computer literacy is required. ECDL Advanced level certification is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and analytical. Decision-making, able to work in a high-volume, complex, and fast-paced publishing pipeline
  • Ability to spot potential issues before they arise and escalate as necessary, and navigate/ negotiate competing demands and priorities from across the business
