Energy Trader & Analyst

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily participation process in the wholesale electricity market, covering short-term load forecasting and declaration (electricity and gas) for HERON’s retail supply activities
• Manage both scheduling and trading aspects of such participation and will be part of the week-based shiftwork of her/his team in the respective day-ahead and intra-day markets
• Perform quantitative analyses to assist trading team with insights identifying market trends and supporting future decision making
• Perform front-desk activities for scheduling in power & gas (forecasting, trading, sourcing optimization, bidding) throughout all sessions of the wholesale market.
• Coordinate and execute the quantitative analysis for the development, maintenance and enhancement of the models used in portfolio management, pricing and forecasting activities pertinent to the energy market (power, gas, oil, green certificates)
• Providing actionable insights and recommendations based on reporting findings, supporting decision-making.
• Designing data modelling processes and custom analysis (predictive analytics, statistical modeling, etc).
• Analyze and manage large data sets to identify trends and reach meaningful conclusions.
• Develop, maintain, and support the usage of advanced tools for energy management purposes

Requirements :

• University Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, other areas of Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
• Basic knowledge of energy market fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of fundamental programming principles and languages (e.g. VBA, Python).
• Working knowledge of data management methodologies and procedures (databases, APIs, etc).
• Working knowledge of data science fundamentals, including exploratory data analysis and data processing.
• Excellent command of MS Office and English language
