Financial Accountant (7564)

CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established and highly respected International Private Equity Group with regional offices in Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit an experienced and suitably well-qualified Financial Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties, including the maintenance of financial records for all Cyprus entities, posting of accounting entries within the accounting software, and the preparation of quarterly financial statements for Group entities. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other closely related fields, and holders of any relevant accounting qualifications/certifications are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess previous experience gained working in Financial Services, Accounting and/or Audit industries, and be fluent in both verbal and written Greek and English. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Maintenance of the financial records and books for all Cyprus entities.
• Posting of accounting entries within the accounting software.
• Preparation of quarterly financial statements for all entities.
• Liaisons and interaction with banks on required returns and reports related to any financing and facility agreements that may be in place with any of the entities.
• Assist with preparation of annual audited financial statements, including interaction with auditors.
• Maintenance of bank accounts and production of cash flow forecasts.
• Other accounting duties relating to new investment and disinvestments when required.
• Liaise with the international team, administrators, auditors and banking representatives.

Key Skills/Experience:  

• Educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field is desirable.
• Fully or Part-Qualified candidates (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) are encouraged to apply.
• Approximately 3+ years of previous experience in the Financial Services, Accounting and/or Audit industry.
• Fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a high attention to detail.
• Computer literate with confident use of Microsoft Office, including Excel. 
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn.
• Highly ethical, trustworthy, reliable, and discreet individual.
• Experience in the use of electronic accounting software packages preferred, but not essential.
