Firewall Security Administrator (m/f/d)

The University Hospital Düsseldorf is a maximum care provider, is subject to the BSI-KritisV and is therefore one of the most important, critical facilities in the state capital Düsseldorf, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. State-of-the-art technology and constant new and further development in the area of network and firewall management ensure our IT infrastructure is secure. Our team protects the entire Düsseldorf University Hospital and paves the way for innovative medical applications in university patient care, research and teaching. In order to be able to meet the constant challenges in the area of IT security in the future, we are looking for active support in a highly specialized team.

The focus of your area of responsibility is:

• Expansion, optimization and operation of the firewall, proxy, DNS, DHCP and security infrastructure
• (Partial) project management in the subject area
• Setup and support of external connections via virtual private networks
• Creating security policies and advising the IT security officer
• Creation, organization and optimization of IT documentation
• Professional fault isolation and rectification of faults in second-level support
• 2nd level support
• Control of 3rd level service providers

Your profile:

• Completed IT-specific training or comparable knowledge and experience
• Very good knowledge in the operation of firewalls and in the DNS environment and sound knowledge of IT security
• Sound knowledge of common network protocols and encryption mechanisms
• Ideally certifications from relevant manufacturers
• Commitment, reliability, sense of responsibility and ability to work in a team
• Excellent comprehension skills, problem-solving skills and a systematic, well-founded way of working
• Good written and spoken German, good English skills
