About the job

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI Team. You will work with Databricks, MLflow, and Feature Store to support and optimise our machine learning models. You will ensure the smooth operation and integrity of our models in production and build systems to monitor these models. This role is also ideal for someone with a background in data engineering and software engineering who is passionate about maintaining and optimising data pipelines and machine learning models.

What you’ll be doing for us

• Collaborate with the AI Team to design, develop, and implement machine learning algorithms and models.
• Handle the lifecycle of data processing, machine learning model development, validation, and deployment.
• Work with the data infrastructure team to scale models to handle an increasing amount of data, and to improve the performance of machine learning models.
• Leverage MLflow and Databricks for tracking experiments, packaging code into reproducible runs, deploying and monitoring models in production.
• Work with Feature Store to manage and optimise features used in machine learning models.
• Implement systems to monitor the health, performance, and business impact of machine learning models in production.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand and translate business requirements into machine learning solutions.
• Collaborate with other ML engineers to share knowledge, improve processes, and enhance team productivity.
• Work closely with the Data Engineering team to ensure data quality and availability for machine learning projects.

Skills-wise, you’ll definitely:

• 1-3 years of experience in a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Engineer, or Software Engineer role.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience in the development of machine learning algorithms using data science and machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g., unit testing, code reviews, design documentation).

And ideally, you’ll also:

• Experience with real-time analytics and decision-making systems.
• Familiarity with data engineering tools and concepts.
• Experience with implementing robust, cost-effective machine learning monitoring solutions.
