Project based - Freelance Writer/Storyteller Wanted at Ellinopoula

Ellinopoula is an award-winning online platform where kids from all over the world learn Greek while having fun! Through engaging videos, interactive games, and our Live Online Classes, we bring the Greek language and culture to life. Our story videos are 1-3 minutes long, designed to be entertaining and educational, expanding kids' Greek vocabulary while capturing the essence of Greece. We aim to make our content easy to understand for kids of all ages and levels.

 We are looking for new storytellers to help expand our collection of animated stories. We want to create interesting and original characters in very short stories or series of stories, with episodes of 2 minute or less. These stories should be fun and make kids fall in love with Greece—its mythology, history, customs, and modern life. Our goal is to create stories with soul that feel real, excite kids, and evoke emotions through genuine humor or inspiration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop captivating and original short story ideas and scripts (2 minutes or less) that align with our educational and cultural objectives (in Greek language).
• Create characters and plots that are engaging, fun, and culturally enriching.
• Collaborate with our creative team to ensure the stories are entertaining and educational.
• Adapt stories to fit the animated format and maintain the simplicity required for kids of all ages to understand.
• Infuse stories with elements that highlight Greek mythology, history, customs, and modern culture.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Proven experience in storytelling, scriptwriting, or a related field, with a portfolio showcasing your work.
• Strong understanding of Greek culture and language.
• Ability to create engaging and relatable characters and plots in very short formats.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Creativity and a passion for making learning fun and engaging for kids.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in writing for children’s content, particularly animated stories.
• Background in education or child development.
• Prior work experience in a remote, freelance setting.
