Job Description - Sales Engineer Consultant

ELPEDISON, with its two privately-owned power plants in Thisvi (Voiotia )and Thessaloniki, with a total installed capacity of 820 MW, uses natural gas as fuel and ensures a clean and continuous electricity flow, based on a highly environmentally friendly power generation process.

We are looking for a Sales Engineer Consultant to pursue the promotion of the Company’s Energy Efficiency Services to the broader business segment.

What you will do:

  • Be responsible for the identification or/and creation of customer interest in energy efficiency or/and energy conservation, for the interfacing between the customer and the department’s Engineering team under the supervision of the Energy Efficiency Services Sales Section Manager and in accordance with the overall guidelines provided by the Energy Efficiency Services Division Director
  • Trace the market to identify and screen Energy Efficiency Services opportunities, consistent with the business plan, undertaking selected initiatives to ensure their implementation and achievement of the agreed technical and financial targets
  • Trace the market and exploit own network to identify potential customer leads
  • Submit a proposed Sales Development Plan to the Energy Efficiency Services Sales Section Manager
  • Create and develop leads for Energy Efficiency Services Projects. Monitor Public Tenders for Efficiency Projects and propose leads related to the Public.
  • Identify new sales opportunities, especially for Site Upgrade projects and Commercial Buildings, within the existing Elpedison Customer Portfolio but also within the broader market independently from the customers’ suppliers.
  • Perform customer initial contact, collect all the necessary energy data and specs as well as competition data, and close the deal with the customer.
  • Propose potential external partners for ESCO-type projects mainly regarding customer leads generation, consultation for public tenders, and new technologies-services.
  • Provide tactical or ad-hoc reporting and presentations according to the requests and guidelines of the Department/Unit’s Director.
  • Analyse and propose ESCO-related sales procedures' improvements along with ameliorations in the energy efficiency services value chain and sales pipeline.
  • Participate in the Division’s or/and the Company’s ad-hoc projects, according to the business's evolving needs and the Organization’s mandate

What you will need to succeed:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering
  • At least 3-4 years of relevant working experience in a similar position with both technical and commercial background, preferably in the energy or/and engineering-technical services sector
  • An MSc in the same fields is highly desirable but in case there is not an MSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, an MA in Business, Economics, or Finance or an MBA would be ok
  • Field Experience in Energy Services at Buildings with a focus on the Public Sector, preferably in Site Upgrades and Facility Energy Management is desirable
  • A good overall understanding of the energy industry and Energy Services with a proven sales track record
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in public tenders
  • Professional ability in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Microsoft Outlook, with a focus on Excel and ppt
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Team player
  • Very good analytical and synthetic capability
