Job Description - Senior Accountant and Payroll Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Accounting and Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and payroll functions in compliance with Greek regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Greek accounting principles, tax laws, and payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting for company’s billing, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.
  • Manage the payroll process, including calculations, deductions, and payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and applicable government regulations.
  • Execute month-end and year-end accounting books closing processes.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
  • Stay updated on changes in Greek accounting and tax regulations and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial data and analysis for decision-making purposes.
  • Assist the Leadership Team in matters related to taxation and international billing, while also monitoring and preparing intercompany transactions.
  • Work with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and other service providers.
  • Oversee and enhance the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Serve as an escalation point of contact for payroll and accounting matters, with the ability to quickly and independently resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders, as well as third-party vendors.
  • Assess technology requirements and changes and ensure that systematic updates are completed by the vendor in a timely and complete manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting and payroll, with a focus on Greek accounting practices.
  • Seasoned in Greek accounting/payroll software and MS Excel.
  • Solid knowledge of Greek tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both oral and written.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.

We will reply to your requests for free, without delay, and in any case within one (1) month after we receive your request. However, if your request is complex or you submit a large number of requests, we will notify you within one (1) month in case we need to take a two (2) months extension, within which we will respond back to you.

We remind you that if you believe the processing of your personal data violates the applicable law for the protection of personal data or that your request has not been sufficiently addressed, you may file a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority ().
