Avis Greece is on the hunt for an exceptional Senior IT System Engineer who will act as a member of Infrastructure Department. He/She will perform installation, configuration, testing, optimization, and operational support of servers and VMs as well as systems and databases. He/she will oversee the execution, monitoring, and completion of all related Redundancy Plans, Backup Plans and Disaster Recovery Plans. Further duties will include planning, designing, and migrating environments from on-premise to Azure-based and working as part of in-house or multi-party project teams to gather technical requirements, write or validate technical architect solutions, execute or oversee the implementation of deliverables and perform Systems Integration Tests.

🎯 Your Mission:

• Operational Support/Optimization/Service and Preventive Maintenance of AD, IT systems and Data Management Solutions including Servers, Storage, VMware, Backup and Archiving Software solutions.
• Be responsible for running the necessary updating and patching cycles in the appropriate maintenance windows in order to ensure the compliance and integrity of our core infrastructure .
• Be competent troubleshooter and run the Incident management lifecycle : investigation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, issue resolution, follow-up, and related documentation and communication to reduce the likelihood of the issue persisting in the future.
• Provide General Windows Administration tasks , including Active Directory, User and Group Policy management.
• Be proficient in the operation and maintenance of the relevant Azure Admin Centers : licensing Admin center, Intune Admin Center, Entra Admin Center management of MS Defender, etc.
• Be familiar with WSUS and SCCM platforms and automate software deployment in specific deployment windows and/or groups for servers and workstations.
• Be familiar with Azure environment and the creation of resources, resource groups, as well as designing and implementing their performance, redundancy, connectivity and disaster recovery needs.
• Provide first level user support and assistance to business users in the troubleshooting and effective resolution of issues related to their IT equipment or network.
• Support the planning, testing and implementation of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Respond to and provide evidence for IT Security audits and GDPR Compliance audits and follow the relative findings to their final resolution.
• Participate in in-house or multi-party Projects to deliver new IT systems or optimized infrastructure architecture, run System Integration Tests and write and/or validate technical documentation including requirement analysis, architecture design, testing reports, administrator manuals etc.

Requirements

🌟 What Spells Success: Your Qualifications

• Educational Background: University degree in Information Systems or Computer Engineering or similar field
• Experience: 10 years of experience in the IT or Telecom or Banking industries as a System or Datacenter Operations Engineer, with a proven record of involvement in infrastructure upgrades/optimization, data center support and/or cloud migration projects
• Solid knowledge in implementing, managing, operating and monitoring Datacenters and servers/VMs operations and in using various alerting platforms such as Nagios for logging and alerting
• Experience in planning and deploying automation and systems management platforms (WSUS, SCCM, etc.) to streamline software deployment, workstation recovery and improve users support
• Working knowledge of Network devices , their parameterization and monitoring such as firewalls, routers, switches, etc.
• Proving Experience in working with hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud (Azure) based) and in planning, managing, and monitoring the usage of various resources and resource groups
• Team Player: Exhibit a strong team spirit, ethical conduct, and reliability while also being capable of working independently
• Analytical Thinking: Showcase advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Communication: Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English
