Job Description - Assistant Project Manager

Your new company
Our client, a leading financial services and insurance group, is undertaking a major Actuarial Transformation initiative. To strengthen internal delivery capability and improve cost control and oversight, the organisation is expanding its in-house project management team and seeking an Assistant Project Manager with the ability to learn quickly and work hands-on in a group setting.

Your new role
Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation
  • Support discussions across actuarial, finance, technology, and vendor teams
  • Assist in facilitating workshops and meetings, tracking follow-ups, and escalating issues when needed.
  • Proactively identify blockers and raise them to the Project Manager or relevant leads.
Actuarial & Modelling Platform Transformation
  • Collaborate with actuarial SMEs to gather information
  • Assist with testing cycles, data validation activities, model migration preparation, and maintaining clear documentation
Operational Change & Future State Planning
  • Support the definition and rollout of the future operating model across actuarial processes
  • Help ensure governance structures, approval flows, and project controls are followed by tracking compliance and preparing reports or dashboards.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of upcoming actuarial and operational transformation initiatives

What you'll need to succeed
Project Management Excellence
  • Ability to provide coordination and administrative support across multiple workstreams
  • Maintains strong governance discipline by helping manage project documentation
  • Supports meeting facilitation by preparing agendas, capturing outcomes, and ensuring follow-ups are completed.
Stakeholder Management
  • Professional communication and reliable follow-through.
  • Support alignment across stakeholder groups
  • Comfortable supporting interactions in dynamic or fast-paced environments
Domain Knowledge
  • Foundational exposure, across actuarial, finance, insurance transformation
  • Assists with documentation, testing, analysis, and coordination activities relating to actuarial or modelling workstreams.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Pathwise or FIS Prophet is beneficial but not required; an interest in learning these areas is expected.
Personal Attributes
  • Fast learner capable of working hands-on with technical teams, demonstrating curiosity and adaptability.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely in English; Cantonese is a plus.
  • Practical, delivery-focused working style, comfortable taking ownership of tasks, managing details, and supporting progress without unnecessary formality.
