Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Custody Operations Specialist to join a tier 1 bank in Hong Kong on 6-12 month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end custody operations lifecycle, including trade settlement, asset servicing, cash and FX management, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting, while ensuring exceptional service delivery to institutional clients and adherence to operational risk and compliance standards.

• Strong understanding of capital markets, investment instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives), and global custody operating models.
• Experience across the trade lifecycle, including trade settlements, asset servicing, cash transfers, and corporate actions processing.
• Strong awareness of local and international regulatory requirements, AML frameworks, and operational risk controls.
• Ability to work accurately under strict market cut-off times, perform reconciliations, and meet SLAs.
• Proficiency with data analytics tools and automated banking platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with institutional clients, auditors, and regional operations teams.

Custody Operations Background:
Custody is a specialised banking service where a financial institution safeguards clients' financial assets (stocks, bonds, cash) and supports the servicing of those assets.
Key responsibilities typically include:

• Safekeeping of institutional assets.
• Trade settlement and post-trade processing.
• Asset servicing, including dividends, interest payments, corporate actions, and proxy voting.
• Cash and FX management.
• Client, tax, and regulatory reporting.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• 6-12+ months' experience in Custody Operations, Securities Services, Asset Servicing, or Investment Operations.
• Experience within a global bank, custodian, or financial services environment preferred.
• Exposure to servicing institutional clients such as pension funds, asset managers, insurance companies, or sovereign wealth funds.
