Our client is a large public sector entity based in the Central District. It is known for its focus on implementing robust technology systems to support governance and compliance efforts.

Job Description

Support organisation-wide Data Governance initiatives with focus on unstructured data
Assist in implementing and enhancing the Data Governance Framework, standards, and controls
Design and optimise governance tools for metadata, data access, tagging, and quality management
Drive adoption of unstructured data governance, including taxonomy and ontology management
Support automated data classification and tagging to improve discoverability and AI readiness
Collaborate with technical and business teams to embed governance into daily operations
Support data privacy, protection, and security compliance with regulatory requirements
Monitor governance effectiveness and recommend continuous improvement initiatives
Contribute to training, awareness, and change management activities across the organisation

The Successful Applicant

1+ years of experience in data governance or data management with technical exposure
Strong knowledge of metadata management, data classification, privacy, and security controls
Hands-on experience with data governance tools such as data catalogues or data quality platforms
Understanding of data foundations required for AI and analytics use cases
Exposure to unstructured data management, auto-classification, or data tagging is an advantage
Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and profiling
Working knowledge of Python for data processing, automation, or text mining
Experience with scripting, automation, or API integration to support governance processes
Strong stakeholder communication skills within technology or financial services environments
