Job Description - Data Scientist Analyst (Top-tier Bank, 80k)

This opportunity is with a large organization operating in the financial services industry. The company is well-established and known for its focus on innovation and delivering high-quality services to its clients.

Job Description

Define, refine, and maintain ontology structures (nodes, relationships, schemas) in collaboration with business stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs).
Validate the accuracy and quality of data extracted from unstructured policy documents, ensuring alignment with business intent and regulatory standards.
Perform manual and automated testing on knowledge graph structures to identify inconsistencies, redundancies, and logical errors.
Serve as the key liaison between technical teams (Data Scientists/Engineers) and business stakeholders (Compliance, Risk, Operations).
Translate technical constraints and data models into clear business requirements, and vice versa.
Document data lineage, business rules, and data mapping requirements for ingestion processes.
Develop and execute test plans for query languages (e.g., SPARQL, Cypher) to ensure accuracy and performance.
Analyze query results to confirm consistency with source policy documents.
Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), incorporating SME feedback to continuously improve graph models and query functionality.

The Successful Applicant

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or related role, preferably within financial services.
Strong understanding of knowledge graph concepts, including ontologies, RDF/OWL, and property graphs.
Proficiency in query languages such as SPARQL, Cypher, or SQL.
Ability to interpret technical documentation, including data models and schemas.
Experience analyzing and troubleshooting outputs from LLM-based data extraction processes.
Knowledge of banking or financial policy documentation is highly preferred.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Hands-on experience with graph database tools such as Protégé, GraphDB, Neo4j, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to facilitate collaboration across technical and business teams with differing perspectives.
