Datacenter Operator

Responsibilities

• Perform routine data centre facility walk-throughs, record readings, and escalate alarms/alerts.
• Execute facility monitoring tasks to maintain safe and stable physical conditions.
• Conduct regular hardware inventory stocktakes.
• Maintain accurate asset/hardware records, including in/out movements and rack location mapping.
• Follow data centre security and key/access handling procedures.
• Perform standard installation procedures and manage hardware decommissioning and disposal.
• Provide data centre access/escort services and maintain access log accuracy.
• Support 24/7 hotline, points of contact, and remote hands tasks (e.g., tape operations and backup preparation).
• Run daily manual operations and batch job processing for Windows, UNIX, and AS400 systems, including restarts/reboots.
• Monitor alerts, complete reporting duties, and escalate incidents; provide non-office-hours helpdesk/user account support.

Requirements

• Education: Higher diploma/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in data centre operations and batch execution.
• Nice to Have: Banking industry experience is preferred (not required).
• Availability: Able to work 24/7 shifts and follow predefined procedures.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Competencies: Able to work independently and as part of a team.
