Equity Application Support Engineer Contract

A leading international investment bank is seeking an Equity Application Support Engineer to join its electronic trading support team on a 12-month contract. This is a hands-on, trading-floor-facing role supporting cash equities applications in a fast-paced sell-side environment.

The role

1. Provide application and production support for cash equities trading systems
2. Troubleshoot order issues, rejections, and FIX connectivity problems across desks, OMS, and venues
3. Support order management systems and the underlying trade flow end to end
4. Run SOD/EOD health checks and monitor application stability
5. Investigate issues using Linux, SQL queries, and existing Python scripts; deploy changes as required
6. Liaise with trading desks, IT, and development teams to keep the trading platform running smoothly

You will have

1. 3–5 years in application or production support within a sell-side environment
2. Solid cash equities knowledge and an understanding of the trade lifecycle
3. Hands-on experience with order management systems and FIX connectivity
4. Comfort working on Linux servers
5. The ability to read and modify Python scripts and write SQL to investigate issues
6. Ideally: exposure to Fidessa or similar equities OMS/EMS platforms, monitoring tools (Geneos, Dynatrace), Bloomberg, and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Jira
