Job Description - Support Engineer (L1 - L2)

Our client is a large, well-established buy-side investment organization with a long-term investment mandate and a highly sophisticated internal investment ecosystem. This role sits within a centralized technology function responsible for supporting mission-critical investment systems that underpin trading, risk, valuation, settlement, and accounting workflows. The team is growing and is looking for hands-on L1-L2 support professionals with strong technical foundations and exposure to investment or trading platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Provide L1-L2 application and system support the investment platform
  • Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and escalation for system, application, or data-related issues
  • Support batch jobs, scheduling, and monitoring to ensure timely completion of critical investment and operational processes
  • Work closely with internal technology teams to resolve complex issues and ensure system stability
  • Assist with minor enhancements, automation, and scripting to improve operational efficiency
  • Participate in deployment, release, and change management processes following established controls


Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven hands-on experience supporting investment platforms or trading systems (buy-side strongly preferred)
  • Strong L1-L2 support background, with solid technical troubleshooting capability
  • Experience across front, middle, and/or back office investment workflows
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Linux/Unix environments
    • Python and scripting
    • Database concepts (SQL, data troubleshooting)
    • Job scheduling / batch processing tools (e.g. Control-M or equivalent)
    • CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
  • Cantonese
